Salmon Run
In August, sockeye salmon reach their spawning grounds in the tundra, culminating a lengthy and strenuous trek from Bristol Bay. This journey spans over a month, traversing the Alagnak River, passing through Kukaklek Lake, and ultimately arriving at their birthplace to spawn. Concurrently, Coastal Brown Bears indulge in a feast of sockeye salmon, seizing every opportunity to eat, and sometimes roam the tundra for blueberries and crowberries.
Our camp, nestled beside quaint lakes, offer convenient proximity to these spawning sites, enhancing your wilderness experience.
